Take the pledge
I won’t support animals exploited and harmed for human entertainment
Spectator ‘sports’, rodeos, circuses, gambling fuelled animal racing and other similar events subject animals to torment, fear, and suffering — all for a fleeting moment of human ‘entertainment’. The animals are typically provoked and forced to perform ‘wild’ and unnatural behaviours, or demeaning ‘tricks’ to entertain a crowd.
What might seem like harmless fun for you, can mean physical and psychological distress, pain and suffering for the animals, as these events often lead to severe stress, injury, and even death for the animals.
This pledge signifies solidarity with the growing movement advocating for a compassionate world for animals, where they are treated with respect and dignity.
By taking this pledge not to support the use and exploitation of animals for entertainment, you are saying: “I don’t believe that an animal should suffer for my entertainment.” I am joining the increasing number of people who are choosing not to support the exempted and legalised cruelty of animals, and I am committing to making compassionate choices."
Take the pledge and help us build a compassionate and legally protected future for animals.
Rodeo events are legalised cruelty.
On New Year’s Day 2025, Animal Liberation agents again attended the Moruya Rodeo. Animal Liberation has submitted a formal cruelty complaint to RSPCA NSW for urgent investigation about some of the incidents we witnessed. More footage and images will be published shortly. You can convey your concerns about rodeo cruelty on public/community land by emailing council at council@esc.nsw.gov.au

On New Year's Day 2023, Animal Liberation agents attended the Moruya rodeo. Our agents captured evidence of workers hitting animals, pulling on their horns and ears, and twisting their tails. They documented highly distressed calves, steers, bulls, and broncs, and an extreme injury sustained by one steer.
Animal Liberation lodged a formal cruelty complaint with RSPCA NSW, and submitted to Eurobodalla Shire Council, our allegations of animal cruelty. Despite RSPCA NSW applying two financial penalties, the council chose to take minimal remedial action and the Moruya Rodeo has continued to take place.
You can view some of Animal Liberation’s applications under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act), to RSPCA NSW and Eurobodalla Shire Council below.
J&J Rodeo - 3 November 2023
Tweed River Agricultural Society Ltd.
On 3 November 2023, Animal Liberation agents attended the J&J Rodeo bull riding event in Murwillumbah, NSW.
Our agents witnessed bulls being provoked and tormented into performing "wild" behaviours for a jeering crowd. The bulls displayed obvious signs of distress including drooling and white eye, repetitive spinning, pawing at the ground, and ramming the chutes and arena walls. This Murwillumbah event was alarming and distressing to watch.
Animal Liberation lodged a formal cruelty complaint with RSPCA NSW including our footage to support our documented animal cruelty allegations.
